Her husband, Necati Arıcı, who previously responded to false death rumors with the words "Her condition is critical but she is alive," confirmed the sad news this time. Arıcı announced the death on his social media page, stating, "My wife Şimal Gülen has passed away. Her funeral will be held in Kuşadası. Information about the location will be provided for those who wish to pay their respects."
In previous years, singer Şimal had gone through a difficult illness process twice and was once again battling health issues. Diagnosed with breast cancer in 2021 and having overcome the disease after treatment, Şimal had also undergone an 8-hour surgery last year due to a tumor in her brain. She successfully navigated this process and had recently announced that she had regained her health.
However, on May 4, Şimal experienced a sudden health issue and was hospitalized. After a period of treatment in intensive care, as her health began to improve, she was moved to a regular ward. Days later, the singer shared her latest condition on her social media account, recounting her experiences to her followers. In her post, Şimal stated: "I just got back to myself, thank you to everyone who called and asked. I had a seizure and was taken to intensive care. We started radiation therapy from my waist. As you can understand, we are going through tough times. Please keep your prayers coming."
