President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan held a phone call with French President Emmanuel Macron at the request of the other side. Regional and global issues were discussed during the meeting.
"BILATERAL RELATIONS AND THE UKRAINE-RUSSIA WAR WERE DISCUSSED"
In a statement regarding the content of the meeting from the Presidency of Communications, the following expressions were included:
"Our President Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan held a phone call with French President Emmanuel Macron at the request of the other side.
During the meeting, bilateral relations between Turkey and France, the Ukraine-Russia war, and regional and global issues were discussed.
"WE ARE READY TO DO OUR BEST TO OPEN THE DOOR TO PEACE"
President Erdoğan stated that it is important to advance cooperation between Turkey and France and that they will continue to take steps in this direction.
Our President indicated that Turkey is making maximum efforts to end the war between Ukraine and Russia with a just and lasting peace.
President Erdoğan expressed that contacts with the parties are ongoing to revitalize the Istanbul process and that Turkey is ready to do its best to open the door to peace as soon as possible.

During the meeting, our President emphasized that the most effective use of diplomatic means is necessary to achieve lasting peace, stating that Turkey's support for the process of achieving a ceasefire and the subsequent efforts will continue to increase, and that avoiding steps that would jeopardize global peace would contribute to peace efforts.
