Esma Esad, the wife of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, who survived breast cancer in 2019, has now been diagnosed with leukemia. Esma Esad will undergo a special treatment protocol that includes isolation conditions and will therefore stay away from public activities.
Esma Esad, the wife of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, has been diagnosed with leukemia. According to a statement from the Syrian Presidency, 48-year-old Esma Esad, who underwent medical examination and tests after various symptoms and clinical signs were observed, has been diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia.
WILL STAY AWAY FROM PUBLIC ACTIVITIES
It was stated that Esma Esad will be subjected to a special treatment protocol that includes isolation conditions and will therefore stay away from public activities. Esma Esad had announced in August 2019 that she had overcome early diagnosed breast cancer. Chronic myeloid leukemia is known as a type of cancer that affects the bone marrow and blood cells.
