All flights across the country have been suspended due to a malfunction in the radio frequency system in Greece. Authorities stated that this situation poses a significant problem for flight safety.
Serious disruptions occurred in flights due to technical issues experienced throughout Greece. It was reported that the malfunction, which was stated to be in the central radio frequency system, affected landings and takeoffs at Athens International Airport as well as regional airports.
MAJOR COMMUNICATION PROBLEM
It was expressed that the Athens and regional radio frequencies serving the control centers were out of service, thus hindering communication with aircraft entering Greek airspace. Authorities stated that this situation posed a significant problem in terms of flight safety.
