An homeless person in Kağıthane entered a vehicle waiting for repairs in front of a workshop through its broken window to warm up. The person died from carbon monoxide poisoning due to a fire that broke out in the vehicle for an unknown reason. The lifeless body of the individual, found in a fetal position inside the vehicle, was taken to the morgue of the Forensic Medicine Institution for examination.
At around 03:00 in the Çavdar Street of Seyrantepe Neighborhood, located in the Kağıthane district of Istanbul, a horrifying incident occurred. According to allegations, a homeless person living on the street entered a car left in front of a repair shop for repairs through its broken window to warm up in the cold weather.
Moments when the car caught fire DIED IN THE CAR HE ENTERED TO WARM UP AS IT CAUGHT FIRE After a while, a fire broke out in the car for unknown reasons. According to the information obtained, it was learned that the person lost consciousness due to carbon monoxide poisoning and tragically died inside the burning car. Upon the notification of the surrounding people who saw the fire, firefighters were dispatched to the scene. The firefighters, after extinguishing the fire, notified the police teams upon seeing the lifeless body inside the car. A large number of police, medical, and crime scene investigation teams were dispatched to the location of the burning vehicle.
THE CAR HAD BEEN THERE FOR MORE THAN A MONTH The owner of the burning car and the mechanic working at the repair shop were called. According to the first statements taken at the scene, it was learned that the car had been waiting at the repair shop for more than a month and that its window was broken.
LIFLESS BODY FOUND IN FETAL POSITION Crime scene investigation teams conducted an examination on the cause of the fire and why the homeless person lost their life. After the initial examinations, the body of the deceased was taken to the morgue of the Forensic Medicine Institution. It was learned that the homeless person, found in a fetal position inside the car, had previously entered other cars to warm up while living on the street, and it is estimated that he entered the burning vehicle to protect himself from the cold weather. Authorities have initiated an investigation into both the fire and the deceased individual.
