Our representative Fenerbahce, in the return leg of the 1-1 draw in the UEFA Champions League play-off round, defeated France's Olympique Lyonnais 2-1, guaranteeing their qualification for the Champions League. With this victory, Fenerbahce secured the tournament participation fee of 18.62 million euros.
In the UEFA Champions League play-off round second leg, our representative Fenerbahce faced the strong French side Olympique Lyon. Having drawn 1-1 in the first match in Kadikoy, the yellow-navy team defeated their opponent 2-1 with a brilliant away performance, securing their place in the Champions League.
HISTORIC SUCCESS AND MASSIVE REVENUE
The magnificent victory on the pitch also provided a massive financial boost to the yellow-navy club. Having secured their ticket to the elite competition, Fenerbahce guaranteed the participation fee of 18.62 million euros for entering the tournament. Fenerbahce had previously earned 4.3 million euros by reaching the play-off round.
