In the Çiğli district of İzmir, Abdullah Elali (16) lost his life in a fire that broke out in a scrapped bus. While three friends who reportedly spent the night in the bus were taken into custody, the fire was captured on security cameras. The fire broke out around 06:00 in a parked scrapped bus with the license plate 35 N 2886 in the Atasanayi Site of Küçükçiğli neighborhood. Those who saw the smoke rising from the bus reported the situation to the fire department, health, and police teams. The fire was extinguished by the intervention of the fire department teams that arrived at the scene. It was determined that Abdullah Elali had lost his life during the control. The lifeless body was taken to the İzmir Forensic Medicine Institution morgue for autopsy.
'CLAIM OF THROWING A CIGARETTE IN THE BUS'
It was learned that I.K. (15), A.K. (16), and P.Ö. (17), who stated that they were in the bus, claimed in their statements that they were friends with Elali and that they spent time together in the evening, and because they missed the bus, they spent the night in the scrapped bus. In their statements, they alleged that the fire broke out as a result of Elali throwing his cigarette into the bus without extinguishing it and that their friends could not get out of the vehicle. It was also recorded that they stated they reported the fire to the 112 Emergency Call Center themselves. I.K., A.K., and P.Ö. were taken into custody and brought to the police station. Meanwhile, the fire was captured on the security camera of a workplace. The investigation is ongoing.
