The leader of the terrorist organization PKK/YPG, Ferhat Abdi Şahin, code-named 'Mazlum Kobani', emphasized their determination to build a future that guarantees the rights of all Syrians and fulfills their aspirations for peace, following the agreement they reached with Syrian President Ahmed Shara.
The President of Syria, Ahmed Shara, agreed with the leader of the terrorist organization PKK/YPG, Ferhat Abdi Şahin, codenamed 'Mazlum Kobani', on the integration of the SDF into the Syrian army.
"WE ARE DETERMINED TO BUILD A BETTER FUTURE"
Mazlum Abdi shared a message on the X platform following the agreement signed with Syrian President Ahmed Shara. Abdi stated, "We see this agreement as a real opportunity to build a new Syria." In his message, Abdi emphasized, "We are determined to build a better future that guarantees the rights of all Syrians and fulfills their aspirations for peace."
WHAT HAPPENED?
Syrian President Ahmed al-Shara met with the leader of the terrorist organization PKK/YPG, Ferhat Abdi Şahin, codenamed 'Mazlum Kobani'. The meeting addressed the disarmament of the terrorist organization occupying the north of the country and its integration into the new Syrian administration. Following the meeting, the Syrian Presidency announced that an agreement had been reached regarding the transfer of the PKK/YPG terrorist organization to state institutions.
The agreement signed by al-Shara and terrorist leader Şahin guarantees the representation of all Syrians in state institutions based on merit, regardless of their religious and traditional backgrounds, and their rights to participate in political processes. It also recognizes the Kurdish community as an integral part of the Syrian state, ensuring their constitutional citizenship rights and all other rights under state protection.
AGREED IN 8 ARTICLES
According to the agreement consisting of 8 articles, the Kurdish community will gain constitutional assurance as part of Syria. Border crossings, oil, and gas fields will come under the management of the Syrian state. All threats to Syria's security and unity will be addressed.
The 8 articles of the agreement are as follows:
1. Ensuring the representation and political participation rights of all Syrians based on merit, regardless of their religious or ethnic background.
2. Recognizing the Kurdish community as an inseparable part of Syria and guaranteeing their constitutional rights.
3. A ceasefire across all Syrian territories.
4. Integrating all civil and military institutions in northeastern Syria, including border crossings, airports, oil, and gas fields, under state management.
5. Ensuring that all displaced Syrians return to their hometowns under state protection.
6. Supporting Syria's fight against all threats to its security and unity posed by the remnants of Assad.
7. Rejecting calls for division, hate speech, and attempts to create discord.
8. Implementation committees will work to put the agreement into effect by the end of the year.
