In the Newborn Gang case, 57 defendants, 16 of whom are in custody, appeared before the judge once again. The court decided to release Nurse Damla Atak, Nurse Tuğçe Toptemel, and Nurse Mehmet Halis Başli under judicial control conditions.

In the hearing of the "Yenidoğan Çetesi" case held today, Nurse Damla Atak, Nurse Tuğçe Toptemel, and Nurse Mehmet Halis Başli were granted release under judicial control conditions. The hearing has been postponed to December 23.

THE "YENİDOĞAN ÇETESİ" CASE CONTINUES

The trial of 57 defendants, 16 of whom are in custody, accused of causing the deaths of baby patients by transferring them to private hospitals' neonatal units they had previously agreed upon and making unjust profits, known to the public as the "Yenidoğan Çetesi" case, is ongoing.

In the hearing held in the conference hall of the Bakırköy 22nd Heavy Penal Court, 6 of the 16 detained defendants, including the doctor Fırat Sarı, who is alleged to be the leader of an organized crime group, were present. Some of the defendants who are not in custody, complainants, and attorneys for the parties also attended the hearing. The defense attorneys of the defendants were heard during the hearing.

DECISION MADE FOR THE RELEASE OF 3 NURSES

After the statements of the attorneys, the court panel took a 2-hour break for an interim decision. After the break, it was decided to release Nurse Damla Atak, Nurse Tuğçe Toptemel, and Nurse Mehmet Halis Başli under judicial control conditions. The hearing has been postponed to December 23.
