It has been claimed that İlker Arslan, the Antalya Police Chief who has been issued a detention order, facilitated bribery and unjust gains by acting as an intermediary for a person who won a tender from the Antalya Metropolitan Municipality. It was also alleged that Arslan's wife was falsely represented as working for a company of a businessman mentioned in the bribery investigation, receiving a substantial amount of money each month under the guise of a salary.
As part of the investigation conducted by the Antalya Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, a detention order was issued for Antalya Police Chief İlker Arslan, his wife Melek Arslan, and Fazlı Ateş, who were suspended from duty by the decision of the Ministry of Interior.
THE NAME OF THE ANTALYA POLICE CHIEF APPEARS IN THE BRIBERY INVESTIGATION
It has been learned that the detention order against Arslan was issued within the scope of the investigation into 'corruption' and 'bribery' conducted against the Antalya Metropolitan Municipality. Following the arrest of Muhittin Böcek, the mayor of Antalya Metropolitan Municipality, last July on charges of 'bribery', it was determined that the name of 1st Class Police Chief İlker Arslan was mentioned in the statements of a businessman and E.T., who received a tender from the municipality's subsidiaries.
"LARGE PAYMENTS UNDER THE NAME OF SALARY"
It is alleged that Arslan entered into bribery and conflict of interest through businessman F.A., who reportedly transferred money to Arslan and his family, and it was found that his wife had previously been registered with social security in companies owned by F.A. and received payments under the name of salary.
ILKER ARSLAN CANNOT BE REACHED
It has been determined that İlker Arslan is in Ankara. Upon learning of the detention order, Arslan stated that he would return, but according to the information received, he has not returned so far and has not been detained.
