RUSSIA: EXTREMELY CONCERNING
The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the U.S. attack on Venezuela as "extremely concerning."
In a statement from the ministry, it was reminded that the U.S. carried out an armed attack against Venezuela this morning, stating, "This is an extremely concerning situation that must be condemned."
The statement emphasized that the excuses used to justify such actions are baseless, indicating that ideological hostility has overshadowed the desire to establish business-oriented pragmatism and trust-based, predictable relationships.
In the current situation, it was emphasized that it is crucial to prevent further escalation of tensions and to focus on finding a way out through dialogue, stating, "We believe that all parties with accusations against each other should seek solutions to problems through dialogue. We are ready to support them in this regard."
"WE CONFIRM THAT WE SUPPORT THE PATH TAKEN BY THE GOVERNMENT"
The statement noted that Latin America should continue to remain a region of peace, asserting, "Venezuela's right to self-determination must be guaranteed without destructive, especially military, external intervention. We reaffirm our support for the path taken by the Bolivarian government, which aims to protect the national interests and sovereignty of the country, in solidarity with the people of Venezuela."
It was reported in the statement that Russia supported the call of Venezuelan officials and leaders of Latin American countries for an urgent meeting of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC), and it was mentioned that the Russian Embassy in Venezuela continues to operate normally.
