The lifeless body of 16-year-old Muhammed Abdullah Hakkıoğlu, who went missing in the flood on August 13 in Keşap, Giresun, was found as a result of search efforts lasting 5 days. The search for his uncle, teacher Mehmet Akkaya, is ongoing.
After the heavy rain that was effective on the night of August 13 in the Keşap district of Giresun, the lifeless body of Muhammed Abdullah Hakkıoğlu, one of the 2 people who disappeared after being swept away by floodwaters, was found.
THE CAR THEY WERE IN WAS SWEPT AWAY BY FLOODWATERS
The car, which was traveling from the Keşap district to the Karabulduk town and contained 3 people, was swept away by floodwaters in the Karadere village area as a result of the overflow of the Karabulduk Stream. While the driver of the vehicle, Ahmet Yılmaz, managed to save himself with his own means, the teacher Mehmet Akkaya (45) and his nephew Muhammed Abdullah Hakkıoğlu (16) were swept away by the floodwaters and disappeared. The search efforts initiated to find the 2 missing people were continuing at 5 different points in an area of approximately 9 kilometers extending from the region where the vehicle was swept away to the sea.
SEARCH EFFORTS CONTINUE FOR THE MISSING UNCLE
On the 5th day of the search efforts, in which nearly 170 teams participated with construction equipment, this morning the lifeless body of Muhammed Abdullah Hakkıoğlu (16) was found in mud, 100 meters away from their wrecked vehicle, in the direction of the sea. The search efforts for his uncle, Mehmet Akkaya, are ongoing.
