The old police lodgings, located directly across from the former District Directorate of National Education in the Silopi district and built during the same period, were left idle after being decommissioned. The multi-story structure, which has not undergone any maintenance or conversion work for years, has deteriorated over time and begun to negatively affect the city's aesthetics and environmental safety.
WINDOWS WERE BROKEN, WALLS WERE DAMAGED The peeling on the exterior facade of the lodging building, broken windows, and writings on the walls are increasing the unease of local residents day by day. Residents state that the structure, where security measures are insufficient, poses a serious danger especially to children and passing pedestrians.

In their statement, local residents said the following: "These buildings, which have been vacant for years, both create visual pollution and pose a security risk. There are schools and residential areas nearby. We expect a concrete step from the authorities. These buildings should either be repurposed or demolished as soon as possible to make the area safe." The people of Silopi are eagerly awaiting the decision to be made by relevant institutions and the concrete efforts to be initiated regarding the future of the idle public structure.
