The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office announced that Sabri Uzun, the former Head of the Intelligence Department of the General Directorate of Security, was detained in Ankara as part of an investigation initiated due to his social media posts. INVESTIGATION FOR INSULTING THE PRESIDENTThe Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office reported that an investigation was initiated ex officio against Sabri Uzun for making insulting posts about President Erdoğan on his social media accounts. DETAINED IN ANKARAIt was stated that Uzun was detained in Ankara as part of the investigation. The statement included, "The individual named Sabri Uzun has been captured and detained today in Ankara as part of the investigation initiated ex officio by our Chief Public Prosecutor's Office due to insulting posts made about our esteemed President from account X." WHO IS SABRİ UZUN?Uzun is originally from Eynesil, Giresun. He began his duty in the police force in 1978 and continued until 2013. Throughout his 40-year professional career, he played a significant role in many intelligence events that occurred in Turkey. Uzun, who has a book titled "In" that encompasses many events that have made headlines, wrote about the events he witnessed during the February 28 process in his book.
