ASSASSINATION ATTEMPT ON ÖNDER

"Sırrı Süreyya Önder showed us that peace is not a possibility. Loyalty and respect to his memory require this. Our party made a statement regarding the assassination attempt. The news that an assassination was attempted necessitated this meeting today. The incident in question occurred on April 2 in Ankara. The security officer of the site where he resides became suspicious of the sounds while parking the vehicle in the garage and checked the tires, discovering that a sharp device had been placed. This device is capable of puncturing and exploding the tire. Subsequently, Önder informed both our party and the authorities. The situation was immediately reported to security officials, and the device was handed over, and precautions were taken. The fact that this was not shared with the public has also become a topic of discussion. It was not shared because Sırrı Süreyya Önder requested that it not be exploited. This incident was followed with great diligence. The decision not to share it with the public was a joint decision of him and the party. Since it was his official vehicle and he is the Deputy Speaker of the Assembly, it was followed with great care due to different protocols."

Weeks have passed since we expected this with great importance; shortly after the call on February 27, there was a statement from the PKK. They had immediately made a 'ceasefire' announcement.
