Recently, CHP Chairman Özgür Özel, who was attacked in a fistfight, made striking statements during a live broadcast he attended. Özel said, "I am as sure as my name that this issue was orchestrated by someone giving orders. Even if the deputy police chief is not part of it, they are directing us to another location instead of allowing our vehicle to enter there. The person who prevented our vehicle from being placed there, even if they are not part of this organization, is still responsible."
CHP General Chairman Özgür Özel was attacked by Selçuk Tengioğlu (66) with a punch after the ceremony held at AKM for Sırrı Süreyya Önder, who passed away in Istanbul a few days ago. Tengioğlu, who was detained after the incident, was arrested and sent to prison for the crime of "intentional injury due to the public duty performed by the person."
STRIKING STATEMENT FROM ÖZEL REGARDING THE PUNCH ATTACK
CHP leader Özgür Özel, who participated in Sözcü TV's broadcast, made striking statements regarding the incident. Özel stated that he is sure the attack was carried out on orders and pointed to the deputy police chief as responsible for the incident.

Özel said: "The main burden should be placed on them to reveal all the connections of this incident. I am as sure as my name that this matter was orchestrated by someone. I have said this from time to time. There is a killer, not just any person. This killer is touching you. This means to get your act together. Secondly, someone who does not pity their own child will not pity you. Think about this twice. That attacker was there two hours earlier, walked with me, could have hit me while getting out of the car. He is doing it on the street. Therefore, there is also a message in the statements to not walk on the street, go sit in your party. The responsibility for clarifying this matter lies with the government.

The deputy police chief also has faults. The governor called immediately. The Beyoğlu district governor called. The Minister of Health called, the Minister of Interior called, the President called.
