Former national basketball player Asım Pars passed away at the age of 48. His lifeless body was found at his family home in Bosnia and Herzegovina, where he took his own life. The former athlete played in the final of EuroBasket 2001 while wearing the national jersey and had played for many important clubs in Turkey, including Galatasaray, Fenerbahçe, and Anadolu Efes.
Former national basketball player Asım Pars passed away at the age of 48. It was revealed that Asım Pars, whose lifeless body was found in the family home located in the Tojsici neighborhood of Tuzla Canton, Bosnia and Herzegovina, committed suicide.
COMMITTED SUICIDE
In a statement from the Tuzla Canton Ministry of Internal Affairs Police Department, it was reported, "Around 10:40 today, the Kalesija Police Station received a tip-off that Asım had committed suicide at his home in Tojsici. Police officers confirmed that Asım had hanged himself." It was also stated that the reason for the suicide would be determined later.
BASKETBALL CAREER
Asım Pars, who played in the final of EuroBasket 2001 with the national team, also played for Galatasaray, Tuborg, Ülkerspor, Tofaş, Fenerbahçe, Anadolu Efes, Pınar Karşıyaka, Türk Telekom, Mersin, and Erdemirspor in Turkey.
