Çetin Güler, who played for Fenerbahçe during his football career and also worked as an assistant coach for the A National Team and Galatasaray, has passed away.
The former coach of the Turkish National Football Team, Çetin Güler, has passed away. The Turkish Football Federation (TFF) announced the death of former player and coach Çetin Güler.
The written statement made on the TFF official website included the following remarks:
"We have learned with deep sadness about the passing of Çetin Güler, one of the valuable names in Turkish football, and the former coach of our National Team and U21 National Team. Çetin Güler, who started his playing career at Fenerbahçe, stepped into coaching after playing for Kasımpaşa, Hacettepe, and Gençlerbirliği. Güler took on the role of head coach for our U21 National Team and worked as an assistant coach for our National Team during the Coşkun Özarı period from 1974 to 1975. After serving as an assistant coach at Galatasaray, he coached clubs such as Kocaelispor, Diyarbakırspor, Altınordu, İskenderunspor, Giresunspor, Adana Demirspor, and Mardinspor. In 1990, Çetin Güler rejoined the Turkish Football Federation as a coaching educator and served Turkish football for many years as the Director of Coach Education and the Director of Coach Personnel Affairs.
FUNERAL CEREMONY ON TUESDAY
Çetin Güler's remains will be buried at the Büyükada Tepeköy Cemetery following the funeral prayer to be held after the afternoon prayer at the Hamidiye Mosque in Büyükada on Tuesday, March 24. We wish God's mercy upon the late Çetin Güler; we extend our condolences to his grieving family, relatives, and the Turkish football community."
