The exhumation process, carried out upon the request of the Bakırköy Chief Public Prosecutor's Office within the investigation into the suspicious death of former Minister of Transport and leader of the Süleymancılar, Arif Ahmet Denizolgun, has been completed. Denizolgun's body has been sent to the Forensic Medicine Institute.

Within the scope of the investigation into the suspicious death of former Minister of Transport and leader of the Süleymancılar community, Arif Ahmet Denizolgun, an exhumation order was issued for Denizolgun upon the request of the Bakırköy Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. While police teams increased security measures around Karacaahmet Cemetery, the prosecutor and crime scene investigation teams arrived at the cemetery.

ANNOUNCED BY THE CHIEF PUBLIC PROSECUTOR'S OFFICE

In a statement made by the Bakırköy Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, the following expressions were included: "In the investigation file registered under number 2026/8086 of our Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, it has been understood that claims and complaints have been made that the death of Arif Ahmet Denizolgun, who passed away on 06/09/2016, and the autopsy procedures performed were suspicious; therefore, in accordance with the relevant provisions of the CMK, an exhumation order has been issued in order to conduct a re-examination regarding the determination of the victim's true cause of death. It is respectfully announced to the public."

EXHUMATION PROCESS COMPLETED

According to information obtained from judicial sources, the exhumation process initiated upon the request of the Bakırköy Chief Public Prosecutor's Office within the scope of the investigation into the suspicious death of former Minister of Transport Arif Ahmet Denizolgun was completed as of 12:00 today.

Within the scope of the decision, Denizolgun's grave was opened, and a judicial examination was initiated to definitively determine the cause of death. It was reported that the findings obtained after the exhumation process would be examined by the Forensic Medicine Institute.

In the file regarding Denizolgun's death, there are claims including the delay in reporting the death to official authorities, the findings alleged to be present on the deceased body, and the inadequacy or errors in the forensic medicine examinations of the period.

MINISTRY OF JUSTICE FOLLOWING CLOSELY

It was learned that the process is also being followed by the Department for Investigation of Unsolved Crimes of the Ministry of Justice, which carries out coordination duties with chief public prosecutor's offices in the re-examination of unsolved and suspicious death files.

It was stated that the Denizolgun family had recently made an official application to the said Department.
