After being relegated from the Trendyol Super League and dropping to the amateur level, Denizlispor will not be able to participate in the Denizli Super Amateur League in the new season. Protesting this situation, fans wanted to hang flags at the Haluk Ulusoy Facilities; a dispute arose between president Süleyman Urkay and the fans, and the tension was prevented with police intervention.

After being relegated from the TRENDYOL Super League in 2021, the troubles are not over for Denizlispor, the Aegean region's established club, which has been reduced to amateur status due to a heavy debt burden and a transfer ban lasting 5 years. Having also bid farewell to the Professional Transition League (Regional Amateur League) last season due to point deduction penalties from FIFA because of debts to its former foreign players, the green-black club, which will start the new season with another point deduction penalty, will not be able to participate in the Denizli Super Amateur League due to the failure to form a sufficient squad, and tensions have arisen between President Süleyman Urkay and the fans.

A group of fans protesting Denizlispor's failure to join the league went to Haluk Ulusoy Facilities to hang a flag at the club. A dispute occurred in front of the facility between the fans and Denizlispor President Süleyman Urkay. The argument, which started over hanging the flag between the fans and President Urkay, quickly escalated. As tension increased, police teams were dispatched to the scene. Police intervened by getting between the parties, and the tension was prevented from escalating further.
