G20 Foreign Ministers Meeting To Kick Off On Thursday

Meeting to be held under theme of 'Building a more peaceful, stable, and prosperous world together'

Indonesia's Bali is set to host the Group of 20 (G20) Foreign Ministers' Meeting on July 7-8 under the theme "Building a more peaceful, stable, and prosperous world together."
The meeting, which will act as a strategic forum to discuss global recovery efforts, will have two separate sessions, according to a statement by the G20.
In the first session, G20 foreign ministers will discuss "strengthening multilateralism" and look into ways to "strengthen global collaboration and foster mutual trust among countries, creating an enabling environment that will support world stability, peace, and development."
UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres will also be attending the first session as guest speaker.
During the second session, which will be on "food and energy", the ministers will address "strategic actions to combat food insecurity, fertilizer shortage, and rising global commodity prices."
Türkiye's Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu will also be attending the G20 meeting, as he will "will exchange views on strengthening multilateralism and ensuring food and energy security in the face of current and future challenges that require global joint efforts," according to the ministry's statement.
Cavusoglu will also "host the 21st MIKTA Foreign Ministers Meeting on July 7 under Türkiye's MIKTA Chairmanship."
The G20 is a strategic multilateral platform that links the world's 20 largest economies. Indonesia is the current chair of G-20, which is made up of the world's largest economies including Russia, the world's most sanctions-hit country for its war on Ukraine since Feb. 24. -
