The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hakan Fidan, made statements regarding the ceasefire that will come into effect in Gaza. In a statement on his social media account, Fidan said, "The agreement reached for a ceasefire in Gaza is a valuable step for justice and humanity. The efforts of Qatar and Egypt, which made this process possible, are commendable. Now, the complete implementation of this agreement and the uninterrupted delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza must be ensured," he stated. "WE MUST ENSURE THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A PALESTINIAN STATE FOR PERMANENT PEACE"In the continuation of his statement, Fidan emphasized that an independent Palestinian State must be established for lasting peace, saying, "The international community must fulfill this legal and moral responsibility. In the following process, we must work for permanent peace and ensure the establishment of an independent Palestinian State," he said. CEASEFIRE AGREEMENT IN GAZAThe United States, with the mediation of Qatar and Egypt, has reached an agreement between Hamas and Israel in the ongoing prisoner exchange talks that include a ceasefire in Gaza. According to the agreement, it will be guaranteed that 600 trucks of humanitarian aid will arrive in Gaza every day of the ceasefire. According to the agreement, Hamas will release 33 Israelis, including all women, children, and men over the age of 50, within 6 weeks. Israel will release 30 Palestinian detainees for each civilian hostage and 50 Palestinians for each Israeli woman. Additionally, Israel will release all Palestinians under the age of 19 who were detained since October 7, 2023. The second phase of the agreement will be discussed on the 16th day of the first phase.
