AK Party Secretary General and İzmir Deputy Eyyüp Kadir İnan reacted strongly to İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Cemil Tugay's words "the representative of Yeşilay." İnan criticized the Tugay administration, especially highlighting the increasing drug use in İzmir.
"THERE ARE DRUG DEALERS IN THE BACK STREETS OF İZMIR"
In his statement, İnan emphasized the drug problem in İzmir, saying, "I am a deputy of İzmir. I was born here, I grew up in these streets. Drug dealers are running rampant in the back streets of İzmir that you have neglected for years."
"OUR YOUNG PEOPLE ARE UNDER GREAT THREAT"
İnan argued that İzmir faces a serious risk for its youth, stating, "Unfortunately, İzmir is the number one city in youth suicides and drug consumption. The cries of families who sacrifice their children to this darkness are heart-wrenching."
"YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE"
İnan suggested that the responsibility for the current situation lies with the local administration, saying, "As an İzmir resident, this situation deeply saddens us. It does not sadden you. Because the cause is you yourselves. You are creating a suitable ground for drugs."
"WE ARE FIGHTING FOR YEŞİLAY"
In his statement, İnan also emphasized Yeşilay, saying, "We are fighting for Yeşilay; that is the exact difference between us. If our antidote to save our youth is Yeşilay, then we will support Yeşilay to the end."
