In Aydın, zurna musician Erman Tosun, who underwent gallbladder surgery, performed breathing exercises by playing the zurna and thanked his doctor for restoring his health. Picking up his instrument, Tosun said, 'After the surgery, a blowing breathing exercise device called a triflo is given. Since I am a musician who has been playing the zurna with my breath for years, I wanted to do the same exercise with my own instrument.'
Musician Erman Tosun, who had been experiencing discomfort due to gallstones in Aydın for some time, applied to the Emergency Service of Aydın City Hospital following increased pain. After examinations, an emergency surgery decision was made, and the operation performed by General Surgery Specialist Op. Dr. Muhammed Çağrı Coşkun was successfully completed. Following the successful operation and treatment, Tosun was discharged and, despite only 48 hours having passed since the surgery, he started playing the zurna again at his home in Şenköy Neighborhood, Koçarlı district, Aydın.
THANKED THE SURGERY TEAM BY PLAYING THE ZURNA
Tosun, stating that he initially did not believe his doctor's words, "You will be able to play your zurna by Friday," said that he experienced the happiness of regaining his health not in 4 days but in 2 days and making it to the weddings he had promised, thanked his doctor and the surgery team by playing the zurna.
Describing his experience, Erman Tosun said, "I had been suffering from this ailment for a few years but didn't pay much attention to it. When my abdomen swelled excessively, I went to the emergency room right after returning from a wedding on Sunday. There, I was told I needed urgent gallbladder surgery. I was admitted to the hospital the same day, and the next day I had a successful operation by Op. Dr. Çağrı Coşkun. I was discharged on Tuesday."
Tosun, who also mentioned that he considered postponing the surgery due to the start of the wedding season, said, "I didn't want to have surgery during our busy period. I was even thinking, 'I'll do it after October.' But our doctor told me there was nothing to fear. He cheered me up by saying, 'I will operate on Monday, and on Friday you will play your zurna.' It really happened just as he said. Two days after the surgery, I picked up my zurna again. I have some pain, but I feel quite well. I sincerely thank all the healthcare workers, especially my doctor, for their efforts. I wanted to express this gratitude in the best way I know, with my zurna."
DID BREATHING EXERCISE WITH ZURNA INSTEAD OF TRIFLO
Tosun, who also stated that he preferred his own instrument instead of using the respiratory exercise device given to patients after surgery, said, "After the operation, they give a blow-type respiratory exercise device called a triflo. Since I am a musician who has been playing the zurna with my breath for years, I wanted to do the same exercise with my own instrument. I felt better, and I also wanted to show my doctor that I had recovered this way. The zurna is not only my profession but also a part of my life. The moment I could play it again, I truly felt healed."
