No news has been received for 13 months from 19-year-old Metehan Arslan Topçu, who, two months after getting engaged in Sakarya, went to Georgia with his fiancée, taking his father's car and jewelry. The family, worried about their child's life, stated that they have applied to many institutions including the police, CİMER, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and said that Metehan and his fiancée are being sought in 189 countries, and they are waiting hopefully for just one piece of news.
19-year-old Metehan Arslan Topçu, living in Sakarya, disappeared about two months after getting engaged last year, taking his father's car and the jewelry presented at the engagement ceremony along with his fiancée Meryem A. No news has been received from the young couple since that day, and the grieving family has been waiting hopefully for a single piece of news from their children for 13 months.
The incident occurred on May 27, 2025. According to the information obtained, Metehan Arslan Topçu, who got engaged to Meryem A. at the age of 18, left home with his father Hüseyin Topçu's car and the engagement jewelry about two months after the engagement. The investigation revealed that the couple left the car in the parking lot of Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen Airport and then flew to Tiflis, the capital of Georgia. In the 13 months that have passed, no news has been received from Metehan Arslan Topçu and his fiancée, and the family has applied to many institutions, including the police, CİMER (Presidential Communication Center), and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
"LEFT 10 THOUSAND LIRA IN THE GLOVE COMPARTMENT AND LEFT"
Father Hüseyin Topçu, who says he has not heard from his son for 13 months, stated that the police investigation determined that his son went to Tiflis, the capital of Georgia.
Topçu, stating that his son left the car at Sabiha Gökçen Airport, said, "We have had no information about the children for 13 months. We cannot reach them or hear their voices. We don't know if they are dead or alive. We reached the Georgian Consulate by our own means. They told us there are no records regarding the children. Since they are of legal age, they are not very interested in the matter. My child had left 10 thousand lira in the car's glove compartment and left. We thought they would travel around Georgia and come back, but 13 months have passed, no trace." Father Topçu stated that his son was selling IPTV when he was 16 and that court documents came to the house during that period, saying, "We think he ran away because of that, or that he might be used for such jobs wherever he went."
SAID THEY ARE BEING SEARCHED IN 189 COUNTRIES
Hüseyin Topçu, who claimed that the family of his fiancée Meryem A. did not support them during the process, said that after their applications to CİMER, they were informed that the children were being searched in 189 countries, first with a yellow notice and then with a red notice. Topçu, saying "A child is not easily raised until the age of 19," expressed that they are waiting for just one piece of news from his son.

Mother Sabahat Topçu, who says she has not heard her son's voice for 13 months, stated in tears that she wants to reunite with her son. Mother Topçu said, "I want my son to come back, I miss him so much. I don't know what my son is doing now, what state he is in. All I want is to hear his voice. There is no place we haven't called, asked, or gone to. The girl's mother has never searched either. Maybe they killed my son and threw him aside. They were engaged and disappeared within two months, they became a mystery." The family continues to wait hopefully for a single piece of news from their son, who has been missing for 13 months.
