The incident occurred in the morning hours in the Kalfalar neighborhood of the central Meram district on Etem Street. When the neighborhood residents, who live on the street, went out to throw away their trash, they heard a baby crying from inside the trash container. At that moment, the neighborhood residents took the baby girl out of the trash. "BORN THIS MORNING"The baby, handed over to the health officials who arrived at the scene, was taken to Konya City Hospital by ambulance after the initial intervention by the health officials. It was determined that the baby was born early in the morning. The police teams have initiated work to capture those who abandoned the baby. "PEOPLE CAN'T FIND CHILDREN, THEY THROW THEM IN THE TRASH"Ramazan Mankır, one of the neighborhood residents, said, "My tenant went outside to throw away the trash. When he came to the trash, he heard a baby crying. He informed my wife about the situation. My wife came but couldn't take the baby out, so she called a neighbor. The woman who came took the child out of the trash. We called the police, and then the ambulance came and took her to the hospital. Many people are looking for children but can't find them, and these people find them and throw them in the trash," he said. Another neighborhood resident, Salime Şimşek, stated, "This morning, a tenant of one of our neighbors came to throw away the trash and saw a child in the trash. He informed us. My tenant also looked and saw a child, wrapped the child in a blanket. We called 112, and the health workers took her away," she said.
