Gürsel Tekin, who was appointed as the trustee of the CHP Istanbul Provincial Presidency, left the building before CHP Chairman Özgür Özel, who challenged him by saying, "I will be at the provincial headquarters tomorrow." In response to the question, "Do you not want to meet Özel?" Tekin said, "There is no situation of not wanting to meet; he is our chairman."
CHP Chairman Özgür Özel, in a statement he made yesterday, reacted to the appointed trustee and the police barricades in front of the provincial building by addressing Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya, saying, "Ali Yerlikaya, who are you to carry out a reputation assassination against CHP? They let the dishonorable person who insulted my mother and targeted my daughter into the CHP building. These positions will change hands, and then you will see how statesmanship is done. The day will come when I will embarrass you," he said. Özel, who stated, "They take photos with the madmen who insult and disrespect a party's provincial chairman and general chairman when we leave that building and share them on social media," added, "Let that person who said 'We entered your territory' come tomorrow. I will be at the provincial building tomorrow. Let that dishonorable person come and make a post from the building," he said. Following Özgür Özel's defiant words, attention turned to the old building of CHP Istanbul Provincial Presidency.
GÜRSEL TEKİN LEFT BEFORE ÖZEL ARRIVED
Gürsel Tekin, who was appointed as a trustee to the CHP Istanbul Provincial Presidency, left the party building in Sarıyer before the MYK meeting that CHP Chairman Özgür Özel is expected to attend at 14:30. Tekin, who arrived at the building in the morning, answered questions from the press after completing the preparations and leaving.
"WE MADE IT SUITABLE FOR OUR CHAIRMAN"
According to a report by Habertürk, Tekin stated, "We are on duty. Since Özgür Özel's MYK will be here, we tried to make the building suitable for our chairman. We have completed our task and are leaving," he said.
"THERE IS NO SITUATION LIKE AVOIDING MEETING"
In response to a journalist's question, "Do you not want to meet Özgür Özel?" Tekin replied:
"There is no situation like avoiding a meeting. He is our chairman. Of course, we will meet in different places. Our task today was to make this place suitable for the MYK. We did that and are leaving."
After his statements, Tekin left the building about an hour later.
ÖZEL IS EXPECTED TO ATTEND THE MYK MEETING AT 14:30
It is expected that CHP Chairman Özgür Özel will preside over the MYK meeting to be held at the CHP Istanbul Working Office in Sarıyer at 14:30.
