The incident occurred in the evening hours in the Toklu neighborhood of the Ortahisar district. According to allegations, a dispute broke out between Şenol Bostan and his wife İrem Bostan, who were in the process of divorce.

During the argument, Şenol Bostan first shot his wife and then himself with a gun. Upon notification, health and police teams were dispatched to the scene. An examination by health teams revealed that the Bostan couple had lost their lives. The bodies were taken to the morgue for autopsy after the prosecutor's examination.
