41-year-old Allen Ray McGrew from South Carolina lost his life as a result of placing and igniting a firework on his head during 4th of July celebrations. McGrew was recorded by his wife dancing in an Uncle Sam costume at a neighborhood party. It was stated that McGrew was intoxicated and placed the firework on his hat to show off. After the explosion, police officers who arrived at the scene found McGrew dead in the middle of the road.

Witnesses stated that McGrew was intoxicated and placed the firework on his hat to show off.
FOUND DEAD IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD
Police officers who arrived at the scene after the explosion found McGrew dead in the middle of the road. The local medical examiner stated that the explosion caused a severe head trauma, resulting in instant death. Paige expressed that her husband worked hard and enjoyed himself, and he loved this holiday. "Allen loved this holiday. He was a patriot, proud of his son, and excited to meet his new daughter-in-law."
McGrew had planned to drink to celebrate his son's engagement and had worn a new Uncle Sam costume for this special day. His neighbors described him as always ready to help and a kind person.
