In a bloody knife fight that broke out among young people in the Manavgat district of Antalya, 22-year-old Ali Küçük, who allegedly stepped in only to calm the parties and break up the fight, lost his life after being struck with heavy blows to the heart. The suspect, Ahmet T., who fled the scene and later surrendered to the gendarmerie accompanied by his father, claimed in his statement that he "had to defend himself."
In a knife fight that broke out in the Manavgat district of Antalya, 22-year-old Ali Küçük, who reportedly tried to break up the fight, lost his life, and a 16-year-old child was injured. After the incident, the suspect Ahmet T., who had fled, surrendered to the gendarmerie along with his father.
THE INCIDENT BEGAN AT THE BEACH
In front of a hotel on the beach in the Denizkent neighborhood, an argument broke out between Ahmet T. and a group of young people for an undetermined reason. As the argument escalated, Ahmet T. attacked the group with a knife he retrieved from his car. In the incident, Ali Küçük and Nuri Ç. (16) were injured by knife blows.
COULD NOT BE SAVED DESPITE ALL INTERVENTIONS
Among the injured brought to the hospital by citizens using private vehicles, Ali Küçük could not be saved despite all interventions and succumbed to his injuries. Nuri Ç., whose treatment was completed, was discharged. Witnesses claimed that Ali Küçük, who lost his life, was not a party to the fight and only intervened to separate those fighting.
SUSPECT'S "SELF-DEFENSE" CLAIM
Ahmet T., who surrendered to the gendarmerie station after fleeing the scene, defended himself in his statement. The suspect claimed he went to the scene at night in response to a call for help and that the group attacked and beat him. Ahmet T. alleged that he swung the knife from his vehicle randomly to protect himself and called the 112 Emergency Call Center to report the incident afterward.
