Public order and traffic teams affiliated with the Istanbul Police Department conducted a comprehensive inspection on Altıyol Street, one of the busiest points in Kadıköy. During the helicopter-supported operation, vehicles passing through the street were stopped one by one and thoroughly searched. In the inspection where identity checks of drivers and passengers were carried out, suspect individuals' and motorcycle searches were meticulously performed.

4-DAY-OLD LICENSE LOST

During the inspections, motorcycle driver V.A. with license plate 34 FRS 053 was found to have 0.89 promil alcohol in the alcohol test conducted. V.A., who was learned to have obtained his driver's license only 4 days ago, was fined 25,000 lira for drunk driving and 2,719 lira administrative fine because his motorcycle's inspection was missing.

The moments when driver V.A., whose license was confiscated and motorcycle was impounded, complained to the police drew attention. I beg you, you wrote a fine late at night; what happened happened. Even if they write 50 billion or 100 billion, there's nothing to be done.'

Another motorcycle driver stopped at the same inspection point was also fined. The owner of motorcycle with license plate 34 HTB 448 was fined 2,719 lira for lacking vehicle inspection and 1,246 lira for not having mandatory traffic insurance, and the vehicle was banned from traffic.

Police authorities stated that such comprehensive inspections across the city will continue increasingly to protect citizens' life and property safety.
