Cemal Yener, who has been fishing in Şanlıurfa for 29 years, brought 5 tons of fresh anchovies from the Black Sea and offered them for sale at 35 TL per kilogram, saying, "Let the citizens eat fish." Citizens seeing the cheap fish formed a queue.
"GOD GAVE, WE WANTED TO SHARE"
Yener stated in a statement that they carried out the campaign for the purpose of solidarity, saying, "Today, we brought 5 tons of fish special for Republic Day. God gave us, and we wanted to share. We offered it for sale at 35 lira per kilogram so that the people of Şanlıurfa can get used to fish and have it on their tables more often. The demand is very good, there is a queue, it turned out very nice," he said.
LONG QUEUES FORMED
Citizens wanting to buy anchovies at a reasonable price formed long queues in front of the restaurant where fish sales were taking place from the early hours of the morning.
