In the Gebze district of Kocaeli, the lifeless bodies of two individuals were found in the collapsed seven-story building; Ahmet Durbaba, who witnessed the building's collapse, recounted his experiences. Durbaba said, "Then the building started coming down towards me. I ran 20 meters forward. The building collapsed behind me."
A family of five was trapped under the rubble of a collapsed 7-story building in the Gebze district of Kocaeli. So far, the lifeless bodies of two people have been reached, while one person was rescued alive.
WITNESSED THE COLLAPSE OF THE BUILDING
Ahmet Durbaba, who witnessed the collapse of the 7-story building in the Gebze district of Kocaeli, recounted his experiences. Durbaba stated that he did not hear any sounds when he first passed in front of the collapsed building, saying, "I came out of the pastry shop, and as I reached the level of the building, the sounds started coming."
WHAT HE DESCRIBED WAS HAIR-CHILLING
Durbaba also mentioned, "At first, I thought it was the sound of a shutter opening. When I looked at the building, the sounds increased, and I started to hear concrete noises as well. Then the building started to come down towards me. I ran about 20 meters forward. The building collapsed behind me."
Durbaba noted that after the building collapsed, they did not hear any sounds from inside, and they went to the site of the rubble and shouted, but they did not receive any response.
Durbaba stated that those living on the other floor were in the village at the time of the incident, saying, "Our friend, someone we know. A person from our neighborhood whom we constantly interacted with. He was a very good person, and this happened. Our only wish is that they come out alive."
