Seventeen-year-old Emircan Y. was detained for filming a video dancing half-naked inside a mosque to a profanity-laden song. The young man, who was referred to the courthouse, stated in his testimony, "I regret it."
A disturbing incident occurred in a mosque located in the Huzur neighborhood of İnegöl district in Bursa during the holy month of Ramadan.
INAPPROPRIATE IMAGES IN THE MOSQUE
A 17-year-old young man named Emircan Y. danced naked from the waist up in the mosque while singing a profane song, recording his own images. The footage shared by Emircan Y. on his social media account quickly drew backlash. Following a report, the Child Bureau Directorate teams of the İnegöl Police Department initiated an investigation, capturing and detaining the suspect.
"I REGRET"
In his statement, Emircan Y. reportedly said, "I filmed something like this for the first time. I wasn't aware. I didn't know there would be such a reaction. I regret it." The suspect, whose procedures at the police station were completed, was referred to the courthouse.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
