Before the TYT exam in Antalya, some candidates were rushing to reach the exam hall at the last minute, while a young girl who couldn't remove her earring was not allowed inside due to the rules. When the assistance from other parents was not enough, the young girl lost her right to take the exam.
In Antalya, candidates who were left with the last minutes of the Basic Proficiency Test (TYT), the first session of the 2025-YKS exam, did not differ from marathon runners. After the doors closed at 10:01, some candidates were not allowed inside, while parents mobilized for a young girl who could not remove her earring. After minutes of effort, when the earring could not be removed, the young girl who was not allowed to take the exam left the faculty sadly.
The first session of the 2025 Higher Education Institutions Exam (YKS), the Basic Proficiency Test (TYT), started this morning across the country. Candidates taking the exam were given 165 minutes. According to the calendar of the Measurement, Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM), YKS results will be announced on July 28, 2025.
Once again, the address of exam excitement in Antalya was the Mediterranean University campus. Candidates arriving at the campus early in the morning passed through security checks and were admitted to the halls. Some students rushed towards the building just minutes before the exam time, while parents outside entered a state of anxious waiting.
PARENTS SWEATED AS MUCH AS STUDENTS
Some parents who accompanied their children to the exam building at the Faculty of Communication came prepared for the long hours of the exam on the campus lawns. Parents with folding chairs, tables, and a teapot chatted while waiting for their children in the shade. A mother trying to relieve her exam stress by knitting caught attention. A police officer on duty in traffic hugged his daughter for a long time, praying and kissing her as he sent her off to the exam.
THE EARRING IN HER EAR LEFT HER DREAMS UNFULFILLED
There were lively moments right before the exam at the Faculty of Education. While some candidates entered at the last minute, others faced problems due to jewelry such as earrings, necklaces, and bracelets they were wearing. Although a young girl who arrived on time faced obstacles at the door due to her jewelry, she managed to remove some of her accessories but was not allowed inside because she could not take off the one in her ear. Other parents rushed to help the young girl to remove the earring, but despite long efforts, she could not get rid of it and missed the entry time for the exam. After the doors closed, the young girl experienced great sadness, while some parents reacted to the situation.
