Halil Ibrahim Turan, who parked his car properly in a public area in front of his house in Konya, found his car smashed when he woke up in the morning. After checking his dashcam, Turan saw that his neighbor, who thought the street was his private property, broke the wipers and repeatedly hit the car with a torn-off rearview mirror, causing damage. He filed a complaint. The victim stated that the neighbors were too scared to speak up and that the damage to the car amounted to 100,000 lira.
Halil İbrahim Turan, who parked his car in an orderly manner on the street in front of his house in Konya, experienced the shock of his life when he woke up in the morning. Finding his car with its window, mirror, and bumper smashed, Turan was horrified after watching the vehicle's camera. The victim saw that the car had been wrecked by their upstairs neighbor, who considered the street their personal space, and immediately went to the police station. Following this vandalism, captured second by second on camera, the vehicle sustained 100,000 lira in damages.
The incident occurred in Konya on Wednesday night, June 17. According to information, Halil İbrahim Turan returned home with his wife and child in the evening and parked his car in an orderly manner, aligned with other vehicles on the street. In the morning, when Turan left home to take his child to school, he was bewildered by the scene before him upon approaching his car. Seeing that the car's windows were smashed, the mirror was torn off, and there were deep dents and scratches on the bodywork, the driver immediately reported the situation to the police.

While the police at the scene continued their investigations, Halil İbrahim Turan accessed the security camera footage inside the vehicle. The footage showed the neighbor living in a building on the street approaching the car at midnight, first cruelly breaking the windshield wiper arms. Unsatisfied, the thug neighbor then tore off the car's rearview mirror and, using that mirror like a weapon, repeatedly threw it at the car's body and windows, causing damage.
WENT TO THE POLICE STATION WITH THE FOOTAGE
Turan went to the police station with the footage and filed a complaint against his neighbor. It was determined that the vehicle, taken to a garage, incurred exactly 100,000 lira in material damage and suffered significant depreciation.
"WE ARE IN FEAR IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD"
Describing the horror he experienced, Halil İbrahim Turan stated that he was not blocking the road and had parked fully legally, saying: "The real reason for my car being wrecked is that they consider the front of the door as their personal space. That area is not part of the apartment at all; it is entirely a public space. They don't want other cars parked in the public space. They have previously damaged other neighbors' cars as well. They have threatened and intimidated people, so no one has been able to file a complaint. We are very uneasy right now; we live in great fear in the neighborhood. Our neighbors warn us secretly, but no one dares to speak up out of fear, and they are even hesitant to give statements."
