In the incident that occurred the other day in the Side neighborhood of Manavgat district in Antalya, it is claimed that security guards shouted when they noticed three people trying to enter the hotel wall at night. Hilmi Çelik, who was working as a receptionist at a nearby hotel, went outside upon hearing the commotion. Seeing three people, one of whom was a woman, running towards a vehicle, Çelik began to chase them. A scuffle broke out between Hilmi Çelik, who wanted to stop the individuals getting into the vehicle, and the suspects, who were found to be foreign nationals. During the scuffle, Çelik collapsed after being punched by Wassim Taunsi, a Tunisian national who was allegedly a boxer. Çelik, who hit his head on the curb, was taken to the hospital by the 112 Emergency Health team that arrived at the scene, but despite all interventions, he lost his life. The lifeless body of Hilmi Çelik, who was taken to the Antalya Forensic Medicine Institution and later retrieved by his son after the autopsy, was taken to his hometown Serik for burial. Meanwhile, the suspects, Wassim Taunsi and two others, one of whom was a woman, were caught by the Gendarmerie teams four hours after the incident. After their procedures, three individuals were sent to the courthouse, and Wassim Taunsi, a Tunisian national, was arrested and sent to prison. It was learned that Taunsi stated in his testimony to the prosecutor's office that they were working as animators, were drunk after work, and had made a bet with his friend to do pull-ups on the wall, claiming they had no intention of theft.
