A noteworthy development has occurred in the investigation initiated against Hasbi Dede, the CHP mayor of Görele, due to messages he sent to a 16-year-old girl. Dede's 15-year-old daughter, A.D., stated that the messages were sent by her out of jealousy, not by her father. However, the prosecutor's office reported that the findings of the technical examination did not align with this statement.
The claim that Hasbi Dede, who serves as the mayor of Görele district in Giresun, sent messages to T.T., the 16-year-old daughter of a tea worker at the municipality, via social media has caused a significant public outcry. Dede, who faces a prison sentence of 9 months to 4 years and 6 months as part of the investigation, has been arrested.
MESSAGES INCLUDED IN THE INDICTMENT The prepared indictment included messages sent by Dede to the victim girl, such as "How am I a man, you are affecting me, I have opened up to you, you may have a boyfriend, no problem, do you like me, why do you think a man writes at this hour?"
DEVELOPMENT THAT WILL CHANGE THE COURSE OF THE INVESTIGATION The development that led to a new phase in the investigation occurred on February 16. A psychological counselor called the 112 Emergency Call Center and reported that Dede's 15-year-old daughter A.D. stated during a session that she was the one who sent the messages in question.
A.D.: I WROTE ALL OF THEM DUE TO JEALOUSY According to a report by Özgür Özdemir from Sabah; following this tip-off, A.D. and her mother went to the prosecutor's office to give a statement. A.D. claimed that she knew the victim T.T., had platonic feelings for her boyfriend, and wanted to put T.T. in a difficult situation due to jealousy. She asserted that for this purpose, she took her father's phone, which was on charge, messaged through Instagram and WhatsApp, and then deleted the applications and messages.
Some of the messages allegedly sent by Hasbi Dede to the victim PROSECUTOR'S OFFICE: STATEMENT AND TECHNICAL EXAMINATION DO NOT COINCIDE However, sources from the prosecutor's office stated that the cyber examination contradicted this account. It was determined that the applications A.D. claimed to have deleted were active and installed when the phone was seized. Additionally, it was assessed that the message on A.D.'s own phone, which was said to be written to her father and gave the impression of taking the blame, might have been written later to serve as evidence.
WHAT HAD HAPPENED? Hasbi Dede, who was elected as the Mayor of Görele from the CHP in the last Local Government General Election, was called to give a statement in the investigation initiated upon a complaint, and a judicial control measure of a travel ban was decided against him.
Upon the objection of the Görele Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, Dede was called to give a statement again on February 10 and was arrested by the duty magistrate on the charge of "sexual harassment by taking advantage of the facilities provided by electronic communication tools against a child."
Dede was suspended from his position as the Mayor of Görele by the Ministry of Interior on February 12.
