Justice Minister Akın Gürlek stated that the social media regulation consists of two phases. Noting that the Ministry of Family and Social Services is conducting a study for those under the age of 15, Gürlek also mentioned that the Ministry of Justice is working on a project regarding anonymous accounts.
Justice Minister Akın Gürlek, who answered questions from journalists before the AK Party's group meeting in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, made evaluations regarding the social media regulation.
"WE ARE WORKING TO PREVENT CHARACTER ASSASSINATION"
Stating that the planned regulation regarding social media consists of two phases, Gürlek said, "Our Ministry of Family is working on children under the age of 15, and as the Ministry of Justice, we are working to prevent character assassination with anonymous accounts for individuals who are 15 years old and older."
"WE HAVE FORMED A TEAM"
Indicating that the committees continue their work, Gürlek said, "As the Ministry of Justice, we have formed a team to technically draft the law. If our Assembly needs, our team is always ready to work."
"THERE WILL BE NO PERSONALIZED REGULATION"
A question was also directed to Minister Gürlek regarding the process of a Turkey without terrorism. Stating that the authority for legal regulation lies with the Grand National Assembly, Gürlek said, "There will be no personal impunity perception, general amnesty, or personalized regulation."
