EXPELLED FROM THE CHP IN 2021
Mehmet Sevigen had been expelled unanimously by the CHP High Disciplinary Board in 2021 on the grounds that he criticized Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu's "reconciliation" statements.
HAD CALLED FOR A RETURN TO THE CHP
Sevigen had frequently come to the fore in recent months with his statements about the party following the debates within the CHP.
In his statements in May, Sevigen, addressing the CHP's former cadres, argued that the party was going through a difficult process and called on former administrators to protect the CHP.
In June, Sevigen attended the bayram greeting program held at CHP Headquarters and called on those who left the party to "return to the family home."
CAME TO THE AGENDA WITH HIS CRITICISMS OF THE CHP ADMINISTRATION
Sevigen had recently drawn attention with his harsh criticisms regarding the CHP administration and developments within the party. In his statement in June, he stated that he saw Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu as the CHP Chairman and made criticisms towards the current administration.
With Sevigen rejoining the CHP, the return of former party members and how the internal debates in the CHP will take shape have come back to the agenda.
