The incident occurred during lunchtime two days ago in the Çay neighborhood of İskenderun district. A concrete fragment falling from a two-story building hit the head of Selim Yıldız, who was sitting with his friend in front of the coffeehouse drinking tea. As Yıldız collapsed in a pool of blood, his friends notified the 112 Emergency Call Center.
COMPLAINED AGAINST BUILDING RESIDENTS
Health teams dispatched to the scene upon the report provided first aid to Yıldız and took him to İskenderun State Hospital. Yıldız, who received 11 stitches on his head, was discharged after treatment. He went to the police station and filed a complaint against the building residents.
“A CHILD COULD HAVE BEEN THERE”
Describing the events, Selim Yıldız said, “While chatting on the sidewalk, concrete pieces fell on my head. It was a sudden incident. It is a public place; precautions should be taken. A child could have been there. When the stone fell, I suddenly collapsed. There was heavy bleeding. They stitched me up at the hospital. I can’t move my leg and arm.”
It was reported that the investigation into the incident continues.
