I do not see any 'will for change' in Erdoğan or the party leadership."
DEVA Party Chairman Ali Babacan has put an end to the discussions about whether he will return to the AK Party in recent days.
HE GAVE A CLEAR ANSWER
According to information obtained from sources close to Babacan by Haberler.com, it is claimed that the DEVA Party leader closed the door to the offer by saying, "I am one of the 73 founders of the AK Party. I still support the founding principles and values of the party today. I would still sign under the founding program today. The issue is that those principles have been abandoned. Moreover, I do not see any indication that Erdoğan or the party leadership are aware of the problems or have a will for change."
"A THOUSAND RUMORS ARE WORTH A PENNY"
Babacan also responded to claims that he would take over the economy by saying, "These days, those who assign us tasks have increased again. A thousand rumors are worth a penny. Those who produce these rumors need to understand this first; we are candidates for the entire management of this country. Because we are the ones most ready to govern the country."
WHAT HAD HAPPENED?
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan had met with opposition leaders at the reception for the opening of the new legislative year of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey on October 1. The photos taken at the opening, which the CHP did not attend in protest, were discussed in the political agenda for a long time.
Journalist Özlem Gürses, speaking on her program "Para Politika ve Hayat" on Sözcü TV, claimed that Babacan had received an offer to return to the AK Party.
Gürses stated: "Ali Babacan received a serious offer to be appointed as the head of economic management from the AK Party. Babacan is considering this. As far as I have heard, it is being discussed in the corridors: Babacan has asked for not only the Ministry of Treasury but also the Ministry of Justice. He said, 'If I come back, I will return in this way; one cannot be solved without the other.' Will he return or not? He knows, that is a separate issue for him. But it seems to me that there is a search in the economy."
