In Esenyurt, Istanbul, 22-year-old Ferdi Aras, who was going to breakfast with his fiancée and mother-in-law, was stabbed to death during a 'side-glance' argument at the exit of a metrobus station. Aras, who was killed in front of his fiancée with whom he was preparing for marriage, had his body handed over to his family amid tears.
Esenyurt district of Istanbul witnessed a bloody incident that started for a trivial reason as small as a fig seed and ended in murder. A young man dreaming of marriage fell victim to a murder committed in broad daylight on the street.
SIDE-LOOKING ARGUMENT ENDS BLOODY
The incident occurred yesterday at the metrobus stop exit in front of Marmara Park Mall in Mevlana Mahallesi. According to information obtained, 22-year-old Ferdi Aras set out with his fiancee and mother-in-law to have breakfast on the weekend. As they exited the metrobus stop, a verbal argument began between Aras and a passerby over the reason 'you looked sideways at me'.
As the tension quickly escalated, the suspect attacked Ferdi Aras with a knife he was carrying. The severely injured young man collapsed in a pool of blood, while the assailant quickly fled the scene and disappeared.
DIES IN HOSPITAL
Upon the reports of nearby citizens and the horrified family, police and medical teams were quickly dispatched to the scene. After initial medical intervention at the scene, Aras was rushed to the hospital but could not be saved despite all doctors' efforts and lost his life. The young man's body was taken to the Forensic Medicine Institute morgue to determine the exact cause of death.
FATHER AND SON APPREHENDED
Following the murder, police launched an extensive investigation in the area and, through field examinations and security camera footage, quickly traced the assailant. The person who stabbed Ferdi Aras was identified as 18-year-old B.B., and it was understood that his 49-year-old father M.B. was also present during the incident. The father and son, taken into custody shortly after, were referred to the courthouse on charges of 'intentional murder' following their procedures at the police station.
