Sad news has come from 20-year-old Kumsal Kayan, who was shot in the head by her ex-boyfriend, against whom there was a restraining order, in the Nazilli district of Aydın. The young woman, who had been fighting for her life in intensive care for two days, died despite all the doctors' interventions. Kumsal Kayan's funeral will be laid to rest today.
Sad news has come from 20-year-old Kumsal Kayan, who was shot in the head with a gun by her ex-boyfriend, against whom there was a restraining order, in the Nazilli district of Aydın.
HER EX-BOYFRIEND, AGAINST WHOM SHE HAD OBTAINED A RESTRAINING ORDER, SHOT HER
The incident occurred on October 28 at around 14:00 at a house on Hürriyet Street in the Karaçay Neighborhood of Nazilli district.
According to the information obtained, an argument broke out for a reason not yet known between 20-year-old Kumsal Kayan and her ex-boyfriend V.D., against whom she had obtained a restraining order.
As the argument escalated into a fight, V.D. shot the young woman in the head with the handgun he had brought with him. While the attacker fled the scene, medical and police teams were dispatched to the address upon notification.
ATTACKER CAUGHT AT CEMETERY
Police teams caught V.D., who fled after the incident, at the Eğriboyun Cemetery area while he was about to attempt suicide, together with the handgun used in the crime.
The suspect, who was stated to have a record for drug use and armed injury, was referred to the courthouse after procedures at the police station. V.D. was arrested by the court he was brought before and sent to prison.
SHE LOST HER TWO-DAY FIGHT FOR LIFE
Kumsal Kayan, who was seriously injured in the head, was placed under treatment at Nazilli State Hospital. However, despite all the doctors' interventions, the young woman lost her two-day fight for life.
The news of Kayan's death plunged her relatives into mourning.
SHE WILL BE SENT ON HER FINAL JOURNEY TODAY
It was learned that the funeral of Kumsal Kayan, who lost her life at just 20, will be removed from Eskihisar Neighborhood after the noon prayer today and buried.
