Due to heavy rainfall in the Bodrum district of Muğla, homes were flooded, some vehicles were stranded on the road, and one vehicle was swept away by the floodwaters. Municipal teams are continuing their work in the affected areas.
In the Bodrum district of Muğla, heavy rain that started in the evening hours intensified during the night. Due to the downpour, flooding occurred in the neighborhoods of Turgutreis, İslamhaneleri, Yalıkavak, Akyarlar, and Ortakent-Yahşi.
In the Turgutreis-İslamhaneleri area, the rising flow of the stream caused floodwaters to block the ring road. Teams worked with construction machinery to clear the road. In the Turgutreis Akçaalan neighborhood, some houses were also submerged. Citizens whose belongings were in the water requested help from the authorities.
2 PEOPLE TRAPPED RESCUED BY CONSTRUCTION MACHINERY
In the Akyarlar Kemer area, the road was also blocked by floodwaters, and a municipal vehicle became stranded while a car was swept away by the floodwaters. Two people trapped inside the municipal vehicle were rescued with the help of construction machinery. Meanwhile, Bodrum Mayor Tamer Mandalinci and the accompanying delegation inspected the affected areas and met with citizens. Mandalinci stated in a press release that there were difficulties in many parts of the district due to the heavy rainfall and expressed that they were working with numerous teams.
