New details have emerged regarding the death of actress Ece İrtem, who passed away at the age of 35 in her home in Kadıköy. The grieving mother, Nuriye İrtem, whose statement was obtained by the police, said that her daughter was extremely drunk that night, was using heavy antidepressant medications, and that she herself put her to bed.
The sudden death of Ece İrtem, who played Işıl in the Kızılcık Şerbeti series, just one day after her birthday plunged Turkey into mourning. As the investigation continues, the statement given by the young actress's mother, Nuriye İrtem, at the police station was obtained on the program "Cansu Canan ile Yeni Sayfa" broadcast on Show TV. The grieving mother's testimony shed light on the behind-the-scenes of that tragic night.
"WE CUT THE CAKE AND HAD FUN, THEN WENT HOME"
Mother Nuriye İrtem described the night of her daughter's birthday, which ended in her death, chronologically with these words:
"At 17:51, we went to a venue on the same street as our home for a birthday celebration. We cut the cake and had fun together. At 20:36, we returned home. Since my daughter was intoxicated after taking her antidepressant medication, I put her to bed. At night, I heard her get up to use the toilet and then go back to bed."
WHEN SHE CALLED HER FOR BREAKFAST, SHE FACED THE HARSH TRUTH
The grieving mother stated that she entered her daughter's room when she did not wake up in the morning, describing the heartbreaking scene she encountered with these words:
"I called her for breakfast in the morning, but she didn't respond. When I entered her room, I saw a bad fluid coming from her mouth. She was drinking too much alcohol and was also using heavy antidepressant medications."
FUNERAL ARRANGEMENTS CHANGED, SHE WILL BE BURIED IN KUŞADASI
Details regarding the funeral of Ece İrtem, who was previously announced to be buried in her hometown of Izmir, have also been clarified. According to the latest planning, the young actress will be bid farewell on her final journey amidst tears following a religious ceremony to be held in Kuşadası tomorrow (Wednesday).
