As part of four separate investigations conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office targeting municipalities, 47 suspects, including three district mayors, were detained. During the searches carried out at the Gaziosmanpaşa Municipality, bundles of cash were found in the safe.
The corruption investigation against suspects, including Ekrem İmamoğlu, who was removed from his position as the Mayor of Istanbul after his arrest by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, continues. The charges include "being a leader of a criminal organization," "being a member of a criminal organization," "extortion," "bribery," "qualified fraud," "illegally obtaining personal data," and "interfering with a tender."
47 ARRESTS IN 4 SEPARATE INVESTIGATIONS
As part of 4 different investigation files by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, a 5th wave operation targeting the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) was initiated. Within the scope of the investigation, a total of 47 individuals, including IMM Deputy Secretary General Erdal Celal Aksoy, ISFALT General Manager Burak Korzay, Gaziosmanpaşa Mayor Hakan Bahçetepe, Avcılar Mayor Utku Caner Çaykara, Ceyhan Mayor Kadir Aydar, Seyhan Mayor Oya Tekin, Beşiktaş Deputy Mayor Ozan İş, Avcılar Deputy Mayor Erhan Daka, Büyükçekmece Mayor Hasan Akgün, Büyükçekmece Deputy Mayor Ömer Kazancı, Büyükçekmece Deputy Mayor Rıza Can Özdemir, Beşiktaş Deputy Mayor Alican Abacı, Avcılar Deputy Mayor (Former Beşiktaş Culture and Social Affairs Director) Mehmet Mandacı, Former CHP Deputy Aykut Erdoğdu, IMM Ağaç A.Ş. General Manager Ali Sukas, and Former Beylikdüzü Deputy Mayor Veysel Erçevik, were issued arrest warrants for charges of bribery, receiving bribes, extortion, and interfering with a tender.

As part of the 5th wave operation, an investigation was initiated based on the statements given by Aziz İhsan Aktaş, who is detained on the grounds of being a "leader of a criminal organization," regarding the Beşiktaş Municipality aspect of 4 separate investigations. In the investigation, a total of 27 individuals, including IMM Deputy Secretary General Erdal Celal Aksoy, ISFALT General Manager Burak Korzay, Gaziosmanpaşa Mayor Hakan Bahçetepe, Avcılar Mayor Utku Caner Çaykara, Ceyhan Mayor Kadir Aydar, Seyhan Mayor Oya Tekin, Beşiktaş Deputy Mayor Ozan İş, and Avcılar Deputy Mayor Erhan Daka, were also detained. Footage of the financial police raid on Gaziosmanpaşa Municipality was released, showing bundles of dollars emerging from the cash register.
