The first statement of the 17-year-old high school student who stabbed and killed teacher Fatma Nur Çelik in Istanbul was chilling. In his statement, the suspect said, "I had broken up with my girlfriend two days before the incident. That's why I went to school to talk to our guidance counselor, Şeyda Teacher. I called but couldn't find her. I randomly entered a classroom and attacked whoever I saw first. I wasn't myself. I stabbed randomly. I always carried a knife with me. It wasn't something special for that day."
A high school student, F.S.B. (17), who stabbed and killed teacher Fatma Nur Çelik (44) and injured teacher Z.A. (52) and student S.K. (15), has been arrested. The student's first statement was chilling.
KILLED TEACHER FATMA, 2 INJURED
The incident occurred on February 2 at Borsa Istanbul Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School in Taşdelen. According to the information obtained, 11th-grade student F.S.B. injured their teachers Fatma Nur Çelik and Z.A. and student S.K. with a knife he had with him for an unknown reason.
Upon notification, police and medical teams were dispatched to the scene. After the initial intervention by the medical teams at the scene, the injured were taken to the hospital by ambulance for treatment. The suspect, F.S.B., was detained by the police. Teacher Fatma Nur Çelik, who was taken to Sancaktepe Ilhan Varank City Hospital in critical condition, passed away despite all interventions.
ARRESTED
After his procedures at the police station, F.S.B. was brought to the Anadolu Courthouse and was referred to the duty magistrate court for a request for arrest after his statement at the prosecutor's office. The court ruled for the suspect's arrest on charges of 'intentionally killing a public officer on duty' and 'intentional injury.'

What F.S.B. recounted in his first statement was horrifying. According to the news by Rojda Altıntaş, F.S.B. said: "I had broken up with my girlfriend two days before the incident. That's why I went to school to talk to our guidance counselor, Şeyda Teacher. I called but couldn't find her. After talking to Şeyda Teacher, I was going to commit suicide. When I couldn't find her, I got stressed. I started hearing voices.
"I ATTACKED WHOEVER I SAW FIRST RANDOMLY"
I randomly entered a classroom and attacked whoever I saw first. I was not myself. I only remember running in the corridor. I remember that Fatma Nur Teacher had entered my class before. She was teaching our biology class. We had no feud. I know Zeynep Teacher. She had taught our chemistry class before.
"I ALWAYS CARRIED A KNIFE WITH ME"
There was no feud between us either. I do not know Salih beforehand. I stabbed randomly. I always carried a knife with me. It was not something special for that day. There is no one who incited me. I apologize to the injured people."
