Trendyol Super League's Göztepe lost 2-1 to Galatasaray away. The İzmir representative, reacting to the referee's management in the match, called for foreign referees. Göztepe's statement included the phrase, "We want a league of winners who earn with their own strength," which also drew attention. HERE IS GÖZTEPE'S STATEMENTIn the official statement made by the yellow-reds on their website, it was stated as follows; "Valuable Sports Public, Esteemed Sports Lovers, When we look at the dictionary meaning of the word HAK: It is written as: "It is the interest that is legally protected and gives the owner the right to benefit from this protection." Hak is the singular form of the word law. However, when we look at what is happening in the Turkish Football Super League, fearing hak and being deprived of hak is one thing... It is now embarrassing to see that hak deprivation is being legalized through referees. We are the 100-year-old Göztepe Sports Club. We are a distinguished community of Turkey. We are the apple of the eye of our beautiful İzmir. As Göztepe Sports Club, we consider hak deprivation a disgrace. We do not accept it, we do not acknowledge it. We fear hak. However, while hak that is taken away by referees in the Super League is happening in front of all of Turkey, the public conscience is suffering deep wounds. Göztepe Football Team may have lost the match yesterday in terms of score... But we know that they gained a lot with their stance in the match. Our evaluation regarding the last match, where conscientious sports commentators on TV bowed their heads in silence, and some even rebelled, is as follows: "Of course, Turkish referees are indispensable for us. However, with the pressure on our referees and all kinds of games being played: They have lost the means to manage the matches and have gone off track. Our young referees running on the green fields do not have sufficient training and experience because they are prepared quickly. They are constantly under pressure and are individuals who will be affected by this. Who will be the champion, who will win the cup, who will be relegated has now become a league determined by referees instead of the football played on the green field. Therefore, it is essential to urgently establish a temporary foreign refereeing system. When this system is established, the aim is not only to relieve Turkish football but also to provide our Turkish referee brothers with the opportunity to prepare more healthily. While non-existent fouls were constantly called against us in yesterday's match, even the fouls committed by the opposing team being recorded in our name has brought tears to even blind eyes. It has gone down in history that no fouls were called for Göztepe until the 42nd minute of the match. The constant verbal harassment of the referee by a Galatasaray player and the few times he gestured with his hands, while looking at the referee and laughing from half a meter away, has embarrassed us all. It is ridiculous that a position that was clearly offside in favor of Göztepe was examined in VAR for five minutes. The claims that our player Koray Günter caused a penalty and the examination of this position in VAR for five minutes clearly show that the ball hit our player's chest. In a healthy sports public, as no one would object, near the end of the match, even if examined from a thousand different angles, even if viewed from space, the penalty that was clearly visible and should have been given in our favor not being awarded by the referee... Even more striking is the fact that he did not even call VAR, which is frightening in terms of hak deprivation in the Super League." Until today, some of our referees have been retired. The MHK has changed, but we see that none of these measures are sufficient and do not achieve their purpose. Changing the MHK President or retiring experienced referees does not yield healthy results. As Göztepe Sports Club... We want a "League of Winners Who Earn with Their Own Strength" for those whose rights are not violated. To draw the attention of football lovers, authorities, and everyone with a conscience... We are calling out from İzmir: "Do not kill the brave, do not deprive of their rights."
