Former Beşiktaş football player Valentin Rosier talked about the reasons for his departure from the black-and-white club. Rosier made shocking statements regarding the period he was sidelined in the black-and-white team, saying to the sporting director, "You are not a man. This is not how things are done. Like a human, you should come and talk to me beforehand. What does it mean to find out I was dismissed from the team via Instagram? Why did you sideline me?"
Valentin Rosier, one of the former football players of Beşiktaş, stated that he received an offer from Galatasaray after his first season at the black-and-white club but rejected it. Rosier also talked about the process of being excluded from the squad and the events surrounding his departure from the team.
"THE COACH DIDN'T WANT ME"
Continuing his football career at the Spanish LaLiga team Leganes, Valentin Rosier, while being a guest on the Histoires de Foot Podcast published on YouTube, shared about his transfer process to Beşiktaş, saying, "I was a bit reluctant because I didn't know Turkey. I knew Beşiktaş was a big club, but I had no idea about Turkey; I didn't know the league. Beşiktaş was a big club, but I was learning about the league. In the end, I signed, but the coach didn't want me. It was the club president who wanted me. Foreign footballers who transfer to Turkey are usually well-known names, and I was not recognized. The coach initially didn't want me. He was like Turkey's Zidane." he explained.
Regarding his time at Beşiktaş, Rosier said, "There was a group where we spoke French at Beşiktaş. Ghezzal, Nkoudou, and Aboubakar. We had a good time together. Everything was going very well. Then we won the championship. It was incredible when we became champions. It was magnificent. An incredible feeling. We won the championship, and then there was the cup final. Most of the team had hardly slept. We trained quickly. I also scored a goal in the cup final. We won, and it was amazing." he stated.
"I DON'T KNOW WHAT HAPPENED"
Regarding the period he was excluded from the squad in the black-and-white team, the French footballer said, "I still don't know what happened. The worst part is that the new sporting director called me a week ago and said, 'You are an important player.' That's why I couldn't believe what I saw. Then I called my driver and said, 'Let's go to the club.' The staff there, even the players, didn't dare to talk to me. Because they also knew it was a ridiculous situation. Onana was there, Eric came too, but Aboubakar and Ghezzal were not. I wanted to talk to the sporting director. Then I said, 'What's going on here?' He replied, 'What do you mean?' I said, 'How do you not know?' He said, 'There was a meeting, and I wasn't there.'" he explained.
"YOU ARE NOT A MAN"
Rosier continued his words, "Then we went to the main sporting director's office with Onana. I was very angry. He greeted me with an arrogant attitude. 'What happened now?' he said. Even this attitude drove me crazy. 'You are not a man. This is not how things are done. You come and talk like a human beforehand. What does it mean to learn from Instagram that I was excluded? Why did you exclude me?' I said. He didn't respond. He just made a gesture as if to say get out. I clearly said, 'I will not leave this room. You cannot kick me out like this. I am Valentin Rosier; you cannot just throw me out like that.' I didn't understand why they were trying to do this without any reason. Voices were raised, the atmosphere became tense, and they separated us. I went outside, kicked a trash can out of anger, and broke it. I left the club. You cannot kick a professional player out like this. Later, they sent an email saying, 'You don't need to come to training.' We were distanced from the team and worked separately." he said.
Regarding the offers he received from Galatasaray and Nice, the experienced footballer said, "Moreover, they knew I wanted to leave. At the end of the second season, Nice wanted me. I wanted to leave. But in the end, the transfer didn't happen. Also, at the end of the first season, Galatasaray wanted me. Galatasaray made a very good offer. Later, I sent a message to the Galatasaray coach (Fatih Terim) and said, 'You are a big club, but I will not leave. I want to stay at Beşiktaş.' I could have earned more at Galatasaray. Then these things happened." he said.
